Orlando summers are brutal. Between the heat, humidity, and the pace of daily life, most people are running at least mildly dehydrated without knowing it. Add in a demanding schedule, travel, or a recent illness, and the deficit compounds quickly.
IV hydration therapy is one of the fastest, most effective ways to restore what your body is missing β not just water, but the electrolytes, vitamins, and minerals that oral intake cannot always replace quickly enough. Here is what you need to know before booking your first drip.
Why IV Beats Oral Supplementation for Speed and Absorption
When you take a vitamin orally, it passes through your digestive system before reaching your bloodstream. Depending on the nutrient, gut health, and what else you have eaten, absorption rates range from roughly 20% to 50%. Some nutrients β like vitamin C at high doses β are actively limited by the gut's transport capacity.
IV delivery bypasses the digestive system entirely. Nutrients go directly into the bloodstream, achieving 100% bioavailability. The result is faster onset and higher peak plasma concentrations than oral supplementation can achieve β which matters when you need results quickly.

Popular IV Drip Formulas at Our Orlando Clinic
Every drip at Rejuvenate & Wellness Center is administered by a licensed clinical provider. We offer several core formulas β and can customize based on your specific needs and health history.
Hydration + Electrolytes
The foundation of any IV protocol. Normal saline or lactated Ringer's solution with a balanced electrolyte blend. Ideal for heat exhaustion, post-workout recovery, illness recovery, or anyone who simply needs to rehydrate quickly. Most patients feel noticeably better within 30 minutes.
Energy & B-Vitamin Boost
A high-dose B-complex (B1, B2, B3, B5, B6) combined with B12 and magnesium. B vitamins are essential cofactors in energy metabolism β they help your cells convert food into usable energy. This drip is popular with patients experiencing fatigue, brain fog, or the energy dip that often accompanies caloric restriction.
Immune Support
High-dose vitamin C (typically 5,000β10,000 mg) combined with zinc and B vitamins. Oral vitamin C is limited to roughly 200β500 mg per dose before the gut's transport system is saturated; IV delivery allows therapeutic doses that are simply not achievable orally. Popular during cold and flu season and for patients who travel frequently.
Myers' Cocktail
The original evidence-based IV formula, developed by Dr. John Myers in the 1970s and refined over decades of clinical use. Contains magnesium, calcium, B vitamins, and vitamin C. Supported by research for chronic fatigue, fibromyalgia, migraines, and general wellness. One of our most requested formulas.
Glutathione Push
Glutathione is the body's master antioxidant β produced naturally but depleted by stress, illness, aging, and environmental toxins. IV glutathione supports liver detoxification, skin brightness, immune function, and cellular repair. Often added as a push at the end of another drip for enhanced effect.
What Your First IV Appointment Looks Like
Brief intake and health review
We review your health history, current medications, and goals to select the right formula and confirm there are no contraindications.
IV placement
A small catheter is placed in a vein in your arm or hand. Most patients describe it as a mild pinch β less uncomfortable than a blood draw.
The drip (30β60 minutes)
You relax in a comfortable chair while the IV runs. Most patients read, work on their phone, or simply rest. Some notice a warm sensation as the drip begins.
Post-drip check
We remove the IV, apply a bandage, and check in on how you feel. Most patients notice improved energy and clarity within minutes to hours.
Is IV Hydration Therapy Safe?
When administered by a licensed clinical provider in a medical setting, IV hydration therapy is very safe for most healthy adults. At Rejuvenate & Wellness Center, all IV treatments are performed by or under the direct supervision of our board-certified FNP-BC providers.
IV therapy is not appropriate for everyone β patients with kidney disease, heart failure, or certain other conditions require careful evaluation before receiving IV fluids. This is why a brief health intake is part of every appointment.
What to bring to your first IV appointment:
- A list of current medications and supplements
- Water β arrive well-hydrated for easier IV placement
- A snack if you have not eaten recently
- Something to do β a book, headphones, or laptop
- Comfortable, loose-fitting clothing with easy arm access
How Often Should You Get IV Therapy?
For general wellness and energy support, most patients benefit from one drip every two to four weeks. Athletes in heavy training may come weekly during peak periods. For acute needs β illness recovery, a big event, or travel β a single session is often all that is needed.
There is no universal schedule. We work with each patient to find a frequency that fits their goals, lifestyle, and budget.
