How GLP-1 Medications Work
GLP-1 (glucagon-like peptide-1) is a hormone your gut releases after eating. It signals your brain that you're full, slows stomach emptying, and reduces appetite. In STEP 1, approximately 4.5% of semaglutide participants discontinued due to GI events.
